Wenzhong Zhang

Wenzhong Zhang, male, was born in October 1968. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University, with a master's degree and a senior engineer title. He served as the Deputy Chief Engineer of Huadian New Energy Group Corporation Limited and is currently the Chief Engineer of Sinovel Wind Group Co., Ltd.

Since 1997, he has been engaged in the wind power industry. He has taken the lead in drafting and compiling a number of national standards, energy industry standards, and professional papers. His research achievements have won the Science and Technology Achievement Award of National Energy Administration and the Science and Technology Progress Award at the central enterprise group level.

He also serves in the following positions.

• Deputy Secretary-General of Chinese Wind Energy Equipment Association (CWEEA)
• Deputy Director of The New Energy Intelligent Power Generation and Equipment Management Committee of Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering
• Member of NEA/TCL
• Member of the Editorial Board of ‘Power Generation Technology’
• Deputy Director of The New Energy Operation and Maintenance Committee of China Electrical Equipment Management Association
• Council Member of China Renewable Energy Society (CRES)

In 2025, he was appointed as an adjunct doctoral supervisor of the Energy and Power Engineering major at the Inner Mongolia University of Technology.
