Conrado Moreno

He was born in Granma, Cuba, on April 3, 1945. He received his B.E. Degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Havana, Cuba in1969. Also the Master Degree from the University of Havana in 1976 and Ph. D. degree in Axial Flow Machines from Technical University of Poznan, Poland in 1983. From 1969 up to now he served as professor on the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Polytechnic University of Havana José A. Echeverría (CUJAE) where he is Emeritus Professor. Currently is Full Professor of Centre of Study for Renewable Energy Technology (CETER). He has been involved in research related to unconventional energy conversion, renewable energy sources and specifically in wind energy. Since 2005 he is consultant to the National Wind Energy Group belonging to the Cuban Government. He has published about 70 technical papers in various journals, reviews and national and international conference proceedings and contributed in more than 15 books in the area of wind energy. One of the most known is the book Twelve Questions and Answers on Wind Energy published in 2017. This book received the National Prize for Technical and Scientific Criticism in 2018.

Dr. Conrado Moreno is member Technical Adviser Council of Ministry of Energy, he is member Sciences Academy of Cuba. In recognition for his merits in the development of the wind energy in Cuba received the National Award of this institution in 2001 and 2021. Also he is Honorary Vice President of World Wind Energy Association (WWEA).
