Galyna Shmidt

Galyna Shmidt with 25 years of experience in renewable energy, is one of the leading experts in Ukraine, particularly in wind energy, and a Board Member of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association.

Between 1998 and 2004, she worked as an analyst at the scientific and technical information center at the Inter-branch Scientific and Technical Center for Wind Power Engineering at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and between 2001 and 2008 - as an editor for the Ukrainian magazine “Zelena Energetyka” (Green Energy) devoted to renewable energy issues.

Co-author of special editions devoted to wind energy deployment in Ukraine including: “Guidelines for the development and implementation of wind power projects in Ukraine” (2017) and the first Ukrainian book for children “Secrets of Wind” (2020).

Mrs. Shmidt was awarded the Eco-Transformation 2020 Prize for her significant contribution to the green transformation of Ukraine; the World Wind Energy Award 2019 for her outstanding achievements in spreading wind energy in Ukraine and worldwide; and the Green Heart Leader 2023 Award for a significant personal contribution to the sustainable development of the state, communities, and business.
